Systemic Counselling

Systemic psychotherapy in Vienna
Clients come to our practice for systemic therapy and counselling in Vienna, for instance, to share personal concerns, discuss relationship problems, process experiences or feelings, change behaviour or develop new ideas for the future. For this work, we use the approach of systemic therapy, as well as concepts from trauma therapy, which reduce psychological stress and build resilience.
Systemic practice is one the on hand particularly mindful how relationships and other contexts are influencing us in our thinking, feeling and action, on the other hand how one can contribute to and develop relationships and ways of being. To clarify, with relationships, we mean in a comprehensive sense relationships to other people, to certain topics, and to ourselves. The systemic way of working hence considers relevant contexts and enables so new ways of making sense of difficulties or problems and of related feelings. In addition, this way of working often provides us with a number of useful viewpoints of relating to the difficulty. In general, we find that this way of approaching problems is often experienced by clients as freeing; it also opens up thinking spaces and helps to find solutions.
Systemic therapy supports working in different modalities or settings. Families or couples, for instance, can come to sessions to work together in relation to a difficulty or problem. However, more frequently, clients come to sessions on their own to work on a topic or to achieve goals.
Individual systemic therapy
Many of our clients choose to attend individual psychotherapy and counselling sessions to address both, individual and relational difficulties, to process experiences and emotions, change their behaviour or to develop ideas about their future.
In effect, individual therapy sessions are often the preferred choice. For example, because that is how some people feel safest, because no one else can contribute, because people feel they are better able to focus on themselves, or because they need this distance from others. Given that, it is often intuitively clear whether individual sessions are best for you. If in doubt, we are of course happy to consult with you.
We appreciate your interest in therapy and personal development. Give yourself and your life this space.
